Seneca boys and girls XC produce wins over L-P and St. Bede

Marquette runs well in dual at Roanoke, Fieldcrest solid at HOIC meet in Peoria

The Seneca cross country teams ran past host La Salle-Peru and St. Bede at Baker Lake on Thursday. The Irish's 23 points bettered the Cavaliers [43] and Bruins [62], while the Lady Irish posted 19 to L-P's 50 and St. Bede's 68.

Leading the boys was Austin Aldridge [2nd, 17:32], Chris Poyner [3rd, 18:00], Brady Danek [4th, 18:23] and Levi Maierhofer [5th, 18:46]. For the girls, Amber Vroman [1st, 19:41], Ashley Alsvig [2nd, 20:00], Audrey Jenkins [3rd, 20:24] and Marie Cheshareck [5th, 21:57].

Marquette runs against Lowpoint-Washburn/Roanoke-Benson

In the boys race, Lucas Hoffman finished in second, running a new all-time personal record of 15:41, followed by top 12 finishes by Will Fiesel [19:10] and Nate Nelson [19:59].

In the girls race, Lilly Craig won by 42 seconds while posting a new PR of 20:42. Ella Biggins had her best finish of the season coming home in 4th [22:03], Mary Jo Lechtenberg was 7th [23:07] and Izzy Garkey 9th [24:01].

Fieldcrest solid at HOIC Meet in Peoria

The Fieldcrest cross country squads performed solidly at the Heart of Illinois Conference Meet at Detweiller Park in Peoria on Thursday, the boys team placing fourth behind five personal bests and the girls seventh with four PRs.

Pacing the boys was Mason Stoeger in seventh place with a time of 16:29. He was followed by Christian Skaggs in 16th [17:11] and Tanner White 27th [18:08].

For the ladies, Clare Phillips was best with a 39th-place time of 23:55.
