A Livingston County man in his 80s died from complications related to COVID-19, according to information shared Wednesday by the Livingston County Health Department.

The death is the fifth COVID-19-related death countywide since the beginning of the pandemic.

Additionally, four more residents tested positive for COVID-19. A man and woman in their 20s, and a woman in her 30s, all of whom are all recovering in isolation, as well as a woman in her 80s who is currently hospitalized, each tested positive for the virus.

As of Wednesday, the health department has received 9,882 COVID-19 test results. Of those, 294 COVID-19 tests have been confirmed positive, 9,588 tests confirmed negative, 264 of the previously reported confirmed cases have been removed from isolation, 25 cases remain active and six individuals hospitalized. Of those individuals who have tested positive, 36 were asymptomatic at the time of testing.

ZIP code areas in Livingston County with six or more confirmed cases are: Pontiac with 74 cases, Dwight with 35 cases, Fairbury with 32 cases, Flanagan with 15 cases, Forrest with 15 cases, Cornell with 13 cases and Long Point with 13 cases.

Streator, which is located mostly in La Salle County, has had 339 cases.
