Rock Falls 60, Ottawa 25

At Rock Falls, the Lady Pirates slipped to 3-2 on the season with the nonconference defeat at the hands of their former NCIC foes.

Sandwich 35, Mendota 31

At Sandwich, the host Lady Indians knocked off the visiting Lady Trojans in a Saturday contest that was tied 22-22 heading to the fourth quarter.

"Our defense is what won us the game," said Lady Indians coach Chris Johnson. "We cannot afford to shoot like we did in the games coming up ... (but) we did attempt 25 free throws and shot 64& from the line. Those are two goals that we met ... that will consistently help us win close games like this."

Claire Roberts with nine points, Ava Knepper with eight and Jaylynn Vana with seven points led the Sandwich attack.
