The Fox River in Ottawa was swollen where it meets the Illinois River. The Fox crested Friday night into Saturday morning more than 5 feet above flood stage, but it has since went down to 1.8 feet above flood stage and could dip below flood stage all together Sunday night, according to river forecasts.
The Illinois River at Ottawa is expected to crest Saturday night and reach about 4 feet above flood stage, which may close Green Street in Ottawa. The Illinois River at Morris is expected to crest at about 3 feet above flood stage, and the river at the Starved Rock Dam will come close to closing Dee Bennett Road. The lower parking lot at Starved Rock State Park is closed due to flooding.
