Streator library offers program for free venue passes

Museums, zoos, theaters and more among tickets

Streator Public Library has joined with Reaching Across Illinois Library System to provide free and discounted tickets to museums, science centers, sporting events, zoos, park districts, theaters and other venues in Illinois.

Library patrons can use their library cards to log in to Explore More Illinois at to reserve tickets. Anyone who lives in the city can obtain a free library card by visiting the library during normal business hours. Bring two pieces of official mail and a photo ID. Those who live outside city limits must pay a $36 annual subscription fee.

At Explore More Illinois, patrons can browse for passes by date or attractions. Reservations should be made and passes printed or downloaded shortly before a visit. An account can have two active reservations per library card. Reservations should be canceled if unable to attend; otherwise the reservation will count as being used. Once a user prints or downloads a pass, the reservation cannot be canceled.
