Police blotter 4-9-19

Jeffrey R. Timm, 42, Ottawa, was cited Monday in the 700 block of Walnut Street on a complaint of trespass to real property. Timm was released and given a court date.

Keith E. Scanlan, 53, Chicago Ridge, was arrested Tuesday at Columbus and Lafayette streets on complaints of DUI, driving while license revoked, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Scanlan was released on $300 bond.


Tavaris Loggins, 21, Streator, was arrested 11:26 a.m. Monday on the 100 block of West Hickory Street on a complaint of domestic battery. Loggins was taken to La Salle County Jail.

Timothy West, 35, Streator, was arrested 9:34 a.m. Monday at North Everett and East LaRue streets on complaints of no valid driver's license, expired registration and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle. West was released with a court date.

A resident on the 100 block of Seventh Street said their Waste Management container was taken sometime within the last month.

A satellite dish was reported damaged sometime overnight Sunday at 1401 N. Otter Creek St.

A dirt bike was reported stolen from an unlocked garage on the 500 block of East Stanton Street sometime overnight Sunday.

A complaint of unlawful use of a credit card was taken 4:58 p.m. Monday from a resident on the 1100 block of Painter Street.

A complaint was made a bicyclist struck a parked vehicle at 10:02 p.m. Monday at 415 S. Illinois St. causing damage to the paint. The bicyclist agreed to pay the damages.

A screen door was reported damaged overnight Sunday at 1401 N. Otter Creek St. An investigation found a 5-year-old neighbor had caused the damage.

Fire calls

Ottawa firefighters responded at 8:11 a.m. Monday to 900 Paul St. for an alarm set off by cooking.

Ottawa firefighters responded at 5:47 p.m. Monday to Bill Walsh Chevrolet Dealership, 1748 E. Norris Drive, for a report of smoke inside the building. No fire or smoke was detected.

Streator firefighters responded at 3:15 Tuesday to 1511 N. Baker St. for an illegal burn which the owner extinguished.

Streator firefighters responded at 7:39 p.m. to 606 E. Morrell St. for an alarm caused by cooking.
