La Salle County
Victoria Besser, 30, of Streator, was arrested at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday on a La Salle County failure to appear warrant on a charge of credit card fraud. Besser was taken to the county jail.
Saul Hernandez, 22, of Mendoza, was cited at about 6:20 a.m. Friday on a complaint of failure to yield one full lane or reduce speed upon approaching an emergency vehicle (Scott's Law) following a traffic stop on Route 34 near east 1950th Road in Adams Township.
Steven A. Miller, 57, of Ottawa, was arrested at about 5 p.m. Friday on a La Salle County failure to appear warrant for DUI drug. Miller was taken to the county jail.
Anthony S. Chavez, 37, of Harding, was arrested at about 1:15 a.m. Saturday on a complaint of domestic battery. Chavez was taken to the county jail.
Deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash at about 6:15 a.m. Saturday at East 13th Road and North 2803rd Road in Ottawa Township. Michael T. Maher, 37, of Peru, was traveling south on East 13th when he failed to stop at the stop sign. Maher left the road to the south and struck a phone utility box. No injuries were reported; Maher was cited on a complaint of failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
Cassandra A. McGuire, 24, of Malta, was cited at about 10:35 p.m. Saturday on Route 23 at Superior Street on complaints of driving while license suspended and failure to signal.
Streator firefighters responded to a traffic crash at 10:13 p.m. Friday on Rinz Drive. No extrication was needed.
Streator firefighters responded to four fire alarms at 609 N. Everett St. Saturday; all caused by burnt food, as well as one call at 606 E. Morrell St. for burnt food.
Streator firefighters responded at 5:49 p.m. Saturday to 502 Boys St. for a grass/leaves fire. The fire was extinguished prior to firefighters' arrival.
Streator firefighters responded at 12:49 p.m. Sunday to an alarm at 606 E. Morrell St.; steam from a shower activated the alarm.
