A Princeton man was arrested Monday on charges of delivering heroin.
The Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team (Tri-DENT) conducted a controlled "buy and bust" operation at about 12:50 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of West La Salle Street, Princeton. Tri-DENT agents arranged a purchase of six baggies of heroin more than 1 gram from Steven W. Hufnagel, 34, according to a news release.
After the purchase, Tri-DENT agents and Princeton police caught Hufnagel in a short foot chase and took him into custody without further incident.
Hufnagel was taken to the Bureau County Sheriff's office for further investigation, after which he was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance (heroin, more than 1 gram but less than 15 grams), a Class 1 felony.
Hufnagel is being held at the Bureau County Jail.
