Sale of heroin to undercover agents led to the arrest of a Ladd woman on Monday.
The Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team (Tri-DENT) conducted a controlled "buy and bust" operation at 4:50 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of South Main Street, Ladd. Tri-DENT agents arranged a purchase of 12 baggies of heroin more than 1 gram from 46-year-old Nickole L. Allen, according to a news release.
Following the purchase, Tri-DENT agents and Bureau County sheriff's deputies took Allen into custody. During the arrest, Allen was found to be in possession of an additional 6 grams of heroin, police said.
Allen was taken to the Bureau County Sheriff's Office for further investigation. She was later charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance (heroin, more than 1 gram but less than 15 grams) and unlawful possession of a controlled substance (heroin, more than 1 gram but less than 15 grams), both Class 1 felonies.
Allen is being held at the Bureau County Jail.
