To the Editor:
What a great opportunity for the people of Streator.
We're a community of 13,000; we don't need a city manager. I say give his two-week pay and send them down the road. Why should the people of Streator make it easy for him to change jobs. We really don't need a city manager. We have supervisors of each department. They can report to the mayor and the City Council. We don't need that new form of government. Right now the manager doesn't care what happens he's out of here in a couple months. We really don't need supervisors of each department if we have a city manger or council members and a mayor. Do we? To save some money get back to basics. We really need new people in the government of Streator. Remember this when you vote. Let's get back to where the people used to run the city.
JIM TURNER, of Streator.
