MINOOKA – A Minooka resident is dead after a crash Wednesday afternoon on Ridge Road south of Interstate 80.
Minooka police said they received a call of a motor vehicle crash at 12:15 p.m. A GMC Canyon was traveling north on Ridge Road when it struck a white Mercedes coming off the eastbound I-80 exit.
The driver of the pick-up truck, a male Minooka resident, was transported to St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, but died on the way, Minooka Police Chief Justin Meyer said. Police could not say if his death was related to the crash.
Minooka police shut down the northbound lanes of Ridge Road.
Minooka police also were preparing to do the initial work, but were waiting for Illinois State Police to arrive for crash reconstruction. No other details were immediately available.
