To the editor:
We would like to thank our community for the outpouring of love, kindness and support during this devastating time for our family. We are blessed to have each of you in our lives and are overwhelmed with gratitude.
Karl passed away doing what he loved most, in the company of his friends, family and community.
We know that it was simply his time to enter God’s Kingdom of Heaven knowing that no undetected health issues have been identified that contributed to his death at this time.
We enjoyed 12 full years with Karl and we know he is now watching over and protecting our family, friends and community from above.
We are in the process of starting a nonprofit 501C3 foundation to honor Karl, called “Karl’s Krusaders,” so that all the local communities and schools can benefit from these genuine acts of kindness. Our mission will be to provide many awesome athletic events and fundraisers in the future to support youth involvement in sports in the schools and local communities. We will improve and support all the local organizations and facilities as well as the local school athletic and physical education programs. Because Karl loved band and playing the trombone we will also give back to the Mendota Northbrook Band Program.
Karl passionately loved everything he did and we will continue to show that in so many ways. We truly believe Karl can make great things happen in our community and beyond even while he is in heaven! We will need a team of people but Karl can lead the way and he will make it happen.
