Amber F. Herrera, 36, Ottawa, was arrested Saturday at Columbus and Fremont streets on a complaint of driving while license suspended. Herrera was released on I-bond.
Reno E. Smith, 20, Streator, was arrested Friday at State and Van Buren streets on a complaint of driving while license suspended. Smith was released on I-bond.
Edgar I. Ramirez, 28, Ottawa, was arrested Thursday at his residence on complaints of driving while license suspended and disobeying a traffic control device. He posted $150 bond.
Ricky W. Nichols, 43, Fulton, Mo., was arrested Thursday at 4041 Veterans Drive on a complaint of driving with a revoked driver's license and on failure to appear warrants for DUI and domestic battery charges in DeKalb County. Nichols was released on I-bond.
La Salle County
Shakillyia Britton, 27, Oglesby, was arrested 4:11 a.m. Saturday at Interstate 80, mile marker 81 westbound, on complaints of improper lane usage, DUI of drugs, possession of marijuana not more than 10 grams and endangering the life of a child. Britton was taken to La Salle County Jail and released with a notice to appear in court. Britton and her children were transported to her residence in Oglesby.
Jeremy M. McAfee, 21, Chicago, was arrested 2 a.m. Saturday at La Salle and Bloomington streets in Streator on a McDonough County failure to appear warrant for a charge of possession of a controlled substance as well as a complaint of possession of marijuana less than 10 grams. McAfee was taken to La Salle County Jail.
Brandon Davis, 34, La Salle, was arrested 6:12 p.m. Friday at his residence on a La Salle County warrant for failure to appear on a retail theft petition to revoke probation. Davis was taken to La Salle County Jail.
Two motorists were taken to hospitals following a two-vehicle crash 2:34 p.m. Friday on U.S. 34 near East 22nd Road in Adams Township. David Underhill, 47, Ottawa, was westbound on U.S. 34 when police said he did not see a vehicle driven by Melissa Silva, 21, Leland, stopped to make a left-hand turn. Underhill struck the rear of Silva's vehicle then entered the south ditch. Underhill was taken to OSF St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ottawa by Leland Ambulance and Silva was taken to Valley West Hospital in Sandwich by Somonauk Ambulance. No citations were issued.
Streator firefighters responded 5:56 p.m. Saturday to 606 E. Morrell St. for an alarm set off by cooking odors.
At 1:47 p.m. Saturday, Streator firefighters assisted at a two-vehicle crash on the 200 block of East Main Street. No extrication was needed.
Streator firefighters responded 2:07 a.m. Saturday to 609 N. Everett St. to an alarm that was pulled, but there was no fire. The system was reset.
