Headline: This Life (Peru)
You can't miss her — Lady Liberty, that is. Anyone driving down Fourth Street (U.S. 6) in Peru can't help but see the Statue of Liberty lookalike dancing along the sidewalk in downtown Peru. Actually, Lady Liberty is none other than Margaret Gonzalez, who is promoting a local tax preparer service. She has been out drawing attention since January and will keep it up until the tax due date of April 15. Gonzalez works a four-hour shift and when she's done, a fellow co-worker takes her place. It can be cold out, and Lady Liberty's torch doesn't keep her warm, but moving up and down the sidewalk can keep the cold at bay.
