Spring gardening series coming to La Salle County

The spring series of the University of Illinois Extension’s Four Seasons Gardening Program, which focuses on environmental stewardship, home gardening, and backyard food production, gets underway this month. 
The public can participate in the free webinar series. 
The first session of the series is titled “A Garden Calendar." This program will be offered via a live webinar 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 17 at the following University of Illinois Extension Offices: Bureau County in Princeton, Marshall-Putnam Counties in Henry and La Salle County in Ottawa. 
This webinar may also be viewed from home on either 1:30 p.m. Tuesday April 17 or 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 19, by pre-registering at go.illinois.edu/4seasons_webinars. Recorded videos of these sessions can be viewed following the program at go.illinois.edu/fourseasonsrecordings. 
Other topics in the spring series include “Living with Japanese Beetles” at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 1 at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 3, and “Preserving Flowers” at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 15 and at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17. The Tuesday 1:30 p.m. sessions will be offered at the University of Illinois Extension Offices previously listed.
