Starting Tuesday, your experience with mywebtimes.com will change -- for the better.
Readers look to The Times website for stories and other items that affect them directly. And we're always looking to make the navigation of this news platform as simple and enjoyable as possible.
Today also is an exciting day as Shaw Media takes ownership of The Times from Small Newspaper Group.
The Times is the latest addition to Sterling-based Shaw’s portfolio of publications, which includes more than 150 titles in Northern Illinois and Iowa.
Shaw Media's website redesign earned international acclaim, winning Editor & Publisher's Best Redesign/Relaunch for its redesigned news websites in the 2017 EPPY contest. The EPPY contest is an international contest that honors the best in digital media. Shaw Media's news sites were one of three finalists for Best Redesign/Relaunch with under 1 million unique monthly visitors.
That's great news for mywebtimes.com readers. On Tuesday, visitors will first notice the site looks different. The mobile-friendly website will be cleaner and faster, with less obstacles, such as pop-up ads, Google surveys and other disruptive content. That doesn't mean all interactive ads are going away, because we still have to pay for our local journalism and other local content.
The Times e-edition also will be improved with a cleaner look.
Readers come to mywebtimes.com to learn what's happening in their community, and we believe they should be able to do that without so many obstacles.
Upon Tuesday's launch, we want to hear your thoughts. Please send an email with your feedback on our new website to email@example.com. We’ll also take suggestions on how we can continue to improve the site.
