Marseilles firefighters respond to house fire

The Marseilles Fire Department responded to a house fire at 471 W. Bluff St. late Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters responded at about 4:15 p.m. to a fire that started in an upstairs bedroom, said Marseilles Fire Chief Mick Garrison.

The family of four escaped safely. The owner’s name was not released.
Firefighters spent about an hour and a half at the scene, and Garrison estimated about $20,000 in damage.
Grand Ridge firefighters and Seneca Ambulance were on standby at the Marseilles station.
