Police say drugs figure in I-39 crash

Minor injury resulted Thursday after a car crashed into a semitrailer on Interstate 39, near the La Salle-Lee County line.

A car driven by Cheryl Kamran, 50, Greenfield, Wis., hit the rear of a semi that was on the shoulder of I-39 at about 1:08 p.m., according to state police. The semi driver, Jacob Curtis, 35, Countryside Estates, was checking his rig, with his hazard lights flashing. Kamran suffered minor injuries and Curtis was not injured.

Kamran was arrested on complaints of DUI drugs, driving while license suspended and improper lane usage. She was also wanted on a La Salle County warrant for failing to appear in court for a January charge of driving while license suspended. Kamran was taken to the La Salle County Jail.
