An Aurora man is charged with selling heroin in the Ottawa area.
On Wednesday, the Aurora Police Gang Unit arrested Christopher Rosario, 39, on a La Salle County warrant for selling heroin Dec. 22 and Dec. 27. The warrant was issued as a consequence of an investigation by the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team, which covers La Salle, Bureau and Putnam counties.
Rosario was brought to the La Salle County Jail on Thursday, needing $100,000 cash bond. The public defender is representing Rosario.
Rosario spent several years in prison for selling cocaine in 2008 in Ottawa. Before that, he spent eight years in prison for a 1997 attempted murder in Kane County. Authorities have in the past identified Rosario as a Latin Kings gang member.
