On Thursday in La Salle County Circuit Court, a Chicago area man was ordered to prison for driving a semitrailer while drunken.
Karanjit Singh, 33, North Aurora, was driving a rig at about 6:20 a.m. Oct. 29 on Interstate 80 near Ottawa, when his rig went into a ditch, then weaved back across two lanes, entered the median and returned to the traffic lanes, where it stopped. Singh had a blood alcohol content of .295. In Illinois, a level of .08 or above is legally drunken.
Singh pleaded guilty and was sentenced Thursday to 18 months in prison. He could parole in about six months.
