MARSEILLES AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY
Marseilles American Legion Auxiliary met March 13 at Legion Post 235. President Vickie Finan opened the meeting and Chaplain Ruth Close led in prayer. Secretary Jerri Brown read the minutes and treasurer Jill Mooneyham reported the Italian dinner and gave the treasury report.
Pauline Cashman presented a donation to the American Legion and Auxiliary. Brown reported on the poppy account. A report was given on the Second Division poppy meeting. A presentation was given on how a poppy was made and how the factory in Bloomington was purchased. An auction took place and the profit will be divided between La Salle and Manteno. A thank you was received from the Department of Veterans Affairs for the donation to veterans at the La Salle home at Christmastime.
Marian Thompson reported on dues and membership. The group voted to raise dues to $30. The year-end reports are due in April and bylaws need to be updated. More information will be given about personal posters that would honor veterans of choice. Becky Tabor announced the Nursing Service will be decorating for the fundraiser dinner Saturday, April 7.
The next meeting will begin with dinner at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, followed by the meeting at 7 p.m.
