ILLINOIS VALLEY ACTIVITY DIRECTORS ASSOCIATION
llinois Valley Activity Directors Association met March 12 at La Salle County Nursing Home. Jackie Latsch was hostess. Two guests were in attendance. President Latsch led the meeting. Chris Biagi-Roscoe, from Heritage Health, Peru, read the minutes. Rhonda Griffin, Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton, did roll call and Jolene Kulpa, Aperion, Spring Valley, gave the treasurer's report. Chris Thompson, education chairwoman, Greenfield Home, Princeton, reported on upcoming educational programs. Kathy Conner, publicity chairwoman, Heritage Health, Streator, reported on submitting articles to newspapers.
The new officers for 2018 are: President Griffin; Vice President Missy Herridge; Secretary Biagi-Roscoe; Treasurer Thompson. Bylaws and nursing home week ideas were discussed.
Carol Gronwold, certified therapeutic recreation specialist from Quality Care Consulting Services, addressed members on sexual intimacy for people diagnosed with dementia.
The next meeting will be at noon Monday, April 9, at Heritage Health, Streator. Janet Sand, health services consultant, will speak on decreasing behaviors through activities.
