Winter: Dormant season
Men born with a soul like winter
Barren, cold without life
Spiritually dead like a corpse
Darkened without The Light.
Inability to comprehend
Blinded, mute and lifeless
Cherishing one's evil deeds
Sin brings spiritual darkness.
Wretched, naked, miserable
Terminally, hardened heart
From God, we are apart.
Spring: Planting season
As the Gospel message is preached
Holy Spirit opens the ears
The Farmer plants the seed of truth
The message becomes quite clear.
The seed planted on fertile soil
Prepared by the Savior's hand
The Holy Spirit placed inside
To help you grow, to stand.
God waters and grows the seed
Under His watchful care
Once captive by sins wickedness
God's grace to me, not spared.
Spiritual death replaced with life
Spiritual darkness with God's Light
Error replaced with God's truth
Called His own child in His sight.
Summer: Growing season
God's pattern for spiritual growth
Starts with understanding His word
Studying the holy Scriptures
Renewing of your mind incurred.
Apart from the truth of Scripture
The flesh cannot be restrained
Absorbing God's eternal truth
The mind, by the Word be trained.
Conviction beliefs take to heart
In understanding you will grow
God's truth develops the mind
Compels you to obey, you know.
Convictions to rule your life
Inform your conscience, to guide
Be holy, for I am holy says Jesus
Letting go of sin and selfish pride.
Inside there's transformation
By God's divine holy hands
To be Christlike in character
To be obedient to His commands.
God's people will love Him with all
Love His word like golden treasure
Pursue the Great Commission
Love others without measure.
Fall: Harvest season
When the Lord calls me home
This earthly body to the grave
My soul delights in heaven
Faithful servant-Christ saved.
