Three Streator deaths from last year remain under investigation.
Robert C. Frederick, 31, was found dead of a gunshot July 2 inside a house in the 800 block of East Wilson Street. Deputy Police Chief Robert Turner said Thursday investigators expect to soon receive laboratory results and will then confer with prosecutors, proceeding from there. Turner noted last summer the state crime lab was backed up.
Tyler Lake, 19, died from a gunshot Dec. 3 in his home in the 400 block of North Sterling Street. Lake's relatives were in the home at the time, and have cooperated with police, Police Chief Kurt Pastirik said a few days after the shooting. A male juvenile, who was named as a possible suspect, has also cooperated.
On Thursday, Turner said there was nothing new to report about Lake's death.
David L. Cross, 46, died Dec. 29 from injuries suffered in a Dec. 16 altercation in the 400 block of East Livingston Street. Police said in January they had a suspect, but this week Turner said there were no developments to report.
