LONG POINT AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY
Long Point American Legion Auxiliary Unit 1217 met Feb. 19. President Mary Taylor called the meeting to order and Chaplain Arlene Martell led in prayer.
Roll call was taken with 12 members present. Becky Taylor presented the minutes and Judi Jacobs gave the treasurer’s report.
The group received a thank you from Charlie Jenkins, president of Woodland High School Class of 2016, for the donation to its project to replace the flag pole at the school; Ma’s Food Pantry received its donation; and a thank you from Gloria Jurczak, librarian at Woodland, for the books.
To reflect the change on the national level, senior dues will be $25 and junior $5 beginning in July. Boxes for the troops will be filled at the Monday, March 19, meeting. The group will receive 500 placemats celebrating March as Ag Month, to be used at the fish fry. Long Point American Legion asked for help in identifying possible members; contact the Legion. The mother-daughter banquet will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 29.
