On Friday in La Salle County Circuit Court, a Streator man was ordered to prison for a heroin deal. Luke Shepard, 35, was sentenced to six years in prison for selling heroin for $100 to undercover agents of the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team on May 23. He could parole in less than three years. However, Shepard also is facing a 2017 Livingston County charge of illegally using a debit card. Another Streator man, Thomas J. Carvish, 35, who was involved in Shepard's heroin case, was sent to prison in early January for heroin dealing in La Salle and Livingston counties. He is set for parole in June 2021.
