A Marseilles man pleaded guilty Friday to leading police on a high-speed chase in November. Joshua W. Sampson, 29, was sentenced to one year in prison for fleeing police, but could be released in about five months. A Seneca police officer pulled over Sampson's 1999 Buick about 2:30 a.m. Nov. 28, then found Sampson's license was suspended. When the officer walked back to Sampson's vehicle, Sampson drove off, starting a chase that led down U.S. 6 to Marseilles. Sampson crashed his Buick into a stop sign and utility box about two miles southwest of Marseilles, then fled on foot and escaped, but surrendered to police later in the day.
