LISLE — The sub-sectional's fourth-seeded Seneca Fighting Irish rallied in the second half to avenge a senior-night loss and defeat the No. 8 seed Reed-Custer Comets 62-54 in the semifinals of the Lisle Class 2A Regional on Tuesday night.
Seneca trailed 20-9 after one quarter and 30-23 at halftime. The contest was knotted 39-all through three periods before the Fighting Irish won the final period 23-15.
Hunter Greve scored 19 points to lead Seneca, now 17-12 on the season. Sam Grushkin added 17 points.
The Fighting Irish will square off versus top-seeded Lisle on Friday night in the regional title game. Lisle won a 37-24 defensive battle over Seneca in a meeting earlier this month.
Lisle 59, Somonauk 50
At Lisle, the No. 9 seed Bobcats outscored the sub-sectional's top-seeded Lions 43-41 over the final three quarters of their Lisle Class 2A Regional semifinal, however, were outscored 18-7 during the opening stanza.
Brady Kreiter had 14 points and Liam Roberts 13 for Somonauk (13-16). Cameron Davis had a dozen points.
Ashton-Franklin Center 93, Paw Paw 76
At Amboy, the No. 12 seed Bulldogs dropped a high-scoring affair to the ninth-seeded Raiders in the opening round of the Amboy Class 1A Regional.
Paw Paw led 17-15 after one quarter. Ashton-Franklin Center proceeded to outscore the Bulldogs 78-59 over the next three quarters.
Brandon Heiman scored 26 points for Paw Paw (4-20). Michael Lampson had 20 points, which included six 3-pointers.
Sandwich 41, Dixon 34
At Sandwich, Jimmy Braddish scored 28 points to lead the Indians (13-13) to the nonconference win over the Dukes. Derek Murphy chipped in seven points.
JUCO men's basketball
IVCC 67, Black Hawk 66
At Oglesby, RJ Thaxton scored 20 points to lead the Eagles (17-12, 5-4) to the Arrowhead Conference edging of Black Hawk College. Isaiah Tubbs added 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Keymonta Johnson chipped in 15 points, dished out five assists and swiped five steals.

IVCC 77, Black Hawk 67
At Oglesby, Julia Pohar (18 points, four 3-pointers) and Rachael Moraski (17 points, five 3-pointers) combined for 35 points and nine 3-pointers to lead the Lady Eagles (16-10, 7-2) to the Arrowhead Conference win over Black Hawk College. Quincie Weber added 11 points.
Marquette Academy graduate Cassidy Murphy contributed eight points for IVCC.
