OTTAWA SUNRISE ROTARY
The high school students of the month were featured at the Sunrise Rotary meeting. Zachary Berger, a senior at Ottawa High School, spoke about activities at school and in the community. Berger is an artist and plans to pursue a double major in graphic design and studio art. He is the son of Robert and Elizabeth Berger.
Marquette Academy Senior, Michael Killelea, son of Bryan and Brenda Killelea, has been active in sports and other clubs. Killelea has many hours of community service and has taken classes at Illinois Valley Community College to get a head start on course work. Future plans for Killelea include attending the University of Wisconsin-Platteville where he will major in agribusiness and play football.
President Mike Matteson opened the meeting and introduced guest, Caitlin Chrzanowski. Sergeant-at-Arms selected Pat Smelko for the drawing who gave the winnings to the students who then donated them to the club’s toy collection and to Interact Club at OHS. Keith Goetz announced the OHS Interact Club is collecting donations, pudding cups and fruit cups at Handy Foods.
The club selected four students to attend Rotary Youth Leadership weekend in May, Grace McGettigan and Briana McCague, from OHS and Grace Rinearson and Kathryn Siena, from Marquette.
