Shepherd 7s win SRC opener

Shepherd's seventh-grade spikers (9-7) win their opening-round Starved Rock Conference Tournament match, 25-21, 23-25, 25-18 over La Salle Lincoln. Ava Creedon (17 service points, 13 aces, two kills), Ryleigh Stehl (six points, four aces, five kills), Brynne Sember (six points, four aces, four kills), Michaela Froisland (three kills) and Ashlynne Flamingo (four kills) led Shepherd.
Prior to that, Shepherd's 7s fell 25-18, 25-27, 25-17 to Seneca despite three aces and four kills from Creedon, four kills from Flamingo, four kills from Sember, and eight points (four aces) courtesy of Stefani Villareal.
 
Dolphins swim past Stingrays
The Ottawa YMCA Dolphins topped the Streator Family YMCA Stingrays 1,334-498 in a dual meet.
Recording three individual wins for the Dolphins were:
Peyton Bryson (:33.54 in 12U 50 freestyle, :38.73 in 50 butterfly, :40.58 in 50 backstroke)
