HENRY — River Valley Players will offer acting workshops featuring Shannon Hill Saturday, March 17, at St John XXIII Community Center 1301 Second St.
Hill is the former artistic director with Festival 56, Princeton, and brings a background of acting and theater experience. Two three-hour workshops will be offered March 17:
- 9 a.m. to noon: ages 9 to 12;
- 1 to 4 p.m.: ages 13 through adult.
Topics will include introduction to stage and theater basics, blocking, countering, basic theater terms, acting basics, emotion and physicality, action/objective work, character voice and physicality, open scene and stage combat basics. The cost for each workshop will be $10 per person.
Hill earned bachelor’s degrees in theater performance and English literature at Western Michigan University as well a master’s degree in theater at the University of Houston.
She has directed more than 20 shows, been a vocal coach, fight choreographer, improvisation instructor and taught theater and acting workshops and classes.
