Lady Cyclones finish with sweep

Central volleyball scored two wins over Dwight to end the season. 
The sixth-grade team (10-7) won 25-11, 25-8, paced by Chesney Auter's and Payton Nodland's 13 service points each. The fifth-grade squad (14-2) triumphed 25-12, 25-10 led by Sadie Johnson's eight points.
 
Shepherd splits with Parkside
Shepherd's eighth-grade volleyball team scored a 25-13, 13-25, 25-18 win over Peru Parkside, with Gabi Krueger (15 service points, seven kills, nine digs), Zoe Harris (17 points), Molly Buscher (seven digs, four kills, four aces), Lauren Vaninger (seven digs), Cora Daugherty (11 digs) and Tres Guerrero (five kills) leading the attack.
The Shepherd 7s fell 25-7, 26-24 despite Ava Creedon's six points, two aces and three kills, Ryleigh Stehl's two kills and three digs, and Mickie Herzog's pair of ace serves.
 
Streator Youth Baseball registration open
Online registration is open for Streator Youth Baseball's 2018 season. To register their young ballplayers ages 5-14, parents can visit www.streatoryouthbaseball.org.

Streator girls softball signup
Streator Girls Softball signup will be this Saturday, February 17 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the St. Michael School craft fair. The cost will be to sell 12 raffle tickets. SGS is looking for volunteer coaches and assistant coaches as well.
 
OGFA registration Feb. 24
Ottawa Girls Fastpitch Association has one remaining February registration date at the Ottawa American Legion, Saturday, February 24 from 9 a.m. to noon.
League ages include t-ball ages 5-6, instructional 7-8, 10U, 13U and high school 14-18.
