The Livingston County Democratic Central Committee has endorsed Rockford attorney Sara Dady in her bid for Congress.
"There was a motion from the floor that was quickly seconded, and the body voted to endorse Sara Dady," Chairman John Reis said in a news release Dady's campaign issued. "Though the endorsement is from the entire committee, I feel that Sara is a hard worker and a strong candidate, and she is the best equipped to turn the 16th District back to Democrats."
Dady, he said, has been to Livingston County more times in the current campaign than U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Channahon, has during his entire time in office.
Dady and four other Democrats — Neill Mohammad, Amy Murri Briel and Beth Vercolio-Osmund — are vying in the March 20 Democratic primary election to face Kinzinger in November.
Kinzinger is running against James Marter in the GOP primary.
In her news release, Dady said she would be accessible to constituents.
"I will not run and hide when I should be holding town hall meetings, even if those issues are uncomfortable and controversial," she said. "I will not let constituent requests sit unanswered in voicemail or email inboxes."
