LA SALLE — On the morning of Sunday, Feb. 11, Marion Alice Senica, 79, of La Salle, earned her Angel Wings as she entered the gates of heaven, where she was reunited with her loving husband, Ron. Just as she would have wished, she died peacefully at her home with her children by her side.
Mrs. Senica was born March 1, 1938, in La Salle, to Harry and Dorothy (Fisher) Bierbom. She married Ronald Senica on Sept. 10,1955, and they began their journey together as husband and wife.
Marion was the proud mother of six wonderful children, whom she would work closely with throughout her life with the various business ventures that the family would take on. Along with her husband and children, Marion was a key factor to the family’s successes and contributions in the growth and development of the Illinois Valley by farming, developing a number of land and subdivision developments, founding Senica Interstate Towing, Country Style Hair Salon, Senica Appliance, Senica’s Heating and Air Conditioning and their most current endeavor of building Senica’s Oak Ridge Golf Course.
Marion enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family and hearing the stories of their daily lives. She also loved to spend time in her garden and taking care of her flowers in her yard and at the golf course.
Survivors include six children, Daryl (Linnea), of Spring Hill, Fla., Jeff (Angie), of La Salle, Wendy (Terry) Fulmer, of La Salle, Sherry Henkel, of La Salle, Jim (Carla), of La Salle, and Frank (Carol), of La Salle; 15 grandchildren, Daryl, of Utica, Jaci and Mary, of Spring Hill, T.J. (Kelly) Fulmer, of Peru, Lesley (Tony) Rue, of Granville, Jaime (Nick) Bazydlo, of Ladd, Patty and Liz Cannon, of Denver, Colo., Veronica (Culie) Hawthorne, of La Salle, Jeffrey, of Oglesby, Brian Cannon, of La Salle, Cassidy and Claire, of La Salle, Rachel, of Ames, Iowa, and Frankie, of La Salle; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her two brothers, Ray Bierbom and Charles Bierbom; and triplet siblings who passed in infancy.

Pallbearers will be Daryl Senica Jr., T.J. Fulmer, Jeffrey Senica, Brian Cannon, Frankie Senica, Tony Rue, Nick Bazydlo and Culie Hawthorne. Services will be at noon Saturday, Feb. 17, at Senica’s Oak Ridge Golf Course. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in La Salle. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the golf course. Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle is assisting her family.
