Cardiologist speaks about heart attack prevention

Morris Hospital board-certified cardiologist Athar Saeed, M.D., will present a free program on heart attack prevention from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, in Whitman Assembly Room 1 at the hospital, 150 W. High St. Every year, about 735,000 Americans experience a heart attack, which occurs when the blood flow that brings oxygen to the heart muscle is severely reduced or cut off completely. During the program, Saeed will explain who is at risk for having a heart attack, ways to lower heart attack risk, warning signs and appropriate action to take in the event of a suspected heart attack. Registration is available at or by calling 815-705-7832.
