LANGSTON: Ives is strong leader we need

To the Editor:

To suggest reforms are needed in Illinois’ political representation is an understatement — it is required!

The Illinois citizenry knows deceit by both political parties and our state rests in the cellar of governments throughout our nation. Certainly history shows the level of corruption and government abuse in our state, and history also shows our rescue will not lie with the Democratic Party given virtually total control of the state legislature — think Mike Madigan.
Unfortunately, the Republican governorship has not lived up to its promises and, in many cases, ignored our pleas regarding HB40 late term abortions on the tax dollar; SB1 rescue of the Chicago Public School system with little help to our state-wide funding process; and in essence a sanctuary state status for Illinois encouraging further straining of our resources.

It’s time to stand up, say our representation is broke and we are going to be part of the solution, not the problem, by allowing false promises and corruption of the political system in Illinois to continue.
I am working for change in our governorship and hope you will also by looking at a strong leader willing to fight for all of us. That leader is candidate for governor of Illinois, Jeanne Ives! Jeanne has the character, courage and conscience to actually take the reins and be in charge as governor of this state. Please take a look at her stance on the issues. She is not afraid to seek out the changes needed to get Illinois back on track and stop the exodus of our residents.
The days of fear, neglect and excuses must come to an end. The fate of Illinois and the Mike Madigan strangle hold on our legislature must change and that is in our hands to achieve.
