CLUB - Ottawa Sunrise Rotary


President Mike Matteson opened the Feb. 2 meeting. Visitors welcomed were Fran Brolley and Rotarians Reed Wilson and Jerry Corcoran.

Sergeants-at-Arms Keith Goetz and Mike Fuller awarded the weekly prize drawing to Fuller himself. Fuller quizzed members on coldest temperatures on record in the United States and around the world.

Wilson, economic development director for the city of Ottawa, reviewed accomplishments in Ottawa over the past nine years with special events, news restaurants, stores, landscapes and industry.

Matteson thanked Rotarians Mike Hughes, Sandy Robinson and Gary Robinson for their work in organized the Rotary dinner in January. Jenny Rios informed everyone about a special fundraiser on Saturday, March 10, for Jennifer Rhode who is a counselor at Ottawa High School and has been diagnosed with ALS. It will be from 3 to 11 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus. The tickets are $20.

The next meeting will be Friday, Feb. 9, in the conference room of OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
