Aurora man arrested for selling cocaine

An Aurora man is charged with a Class X felony for selling more than 100 grams of cocaine in La Salle County.

A La Salle County arrest warrant was issued Monday for Derrick R. Aquino Jr., 25, on a charge of delivery of a controlled substance. During November, Tri-DENT agents, among other law enforcement agencies, started an investigation of cocaine sales in La Salle County, leading to the seizure of thousands of dollars worth of cocaine.

Kane County sheriff's deputies and Tri-DENT agents executed a search warrant at Aquino's residence and Aquino was booked in the Kane County Jail based on the search warrant and the Kane County Sheriff's Office's investigation into narcotic sales in the Aurora area. Aquino was arrested Friday by Kane County deputies in the Aurora area and was being held on Kane County charges with a $20,000 bond. Aquino was served the La Salle County warrant while in jail; the bond was set at $2 million.
