COLUMBIA, Mo. — Aletha Maie (Brust) Sulzberger, 96, formerly of La Plata, Mo., passed away Feb. 2 at Tiger Place Independent Living in Columbia, Mo.
She was born Aug. 7, 1921, in Odell, to Francis “Frank” C. Brust, Sr. and Catherine (Stevenson) Brust. She married Lester Sulzberger on Aug. 26, 1938. Lester passed in 2012.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; five siblings, Jack (Joann) Brust, Donald (Dorothy) Brust, Margaret “Peg” (Bob) Myers, Francis “Junior” (Esther) Brust and Catherine “Kay”(Junior) Hobart; and daughter-in-law, Charlotte Ann Sulzberger.
Aletha is survived by sons, Harry M. Sulzberger, of Columbia, and Ronald L. Sulzberger, of Freeman, Mo.; three grandchildren, Leigh Ann Pool, Elizabeth Hollas and Patrick Sulzberger; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Feb. 5 at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, at Allen Township Cemetery in Ransom.
