Parents with 3- or 4-year-old children in Seneca Grade School District 170 can have children pre-screened early for the 2018-19 school year.
Early preschool screenings will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21, and Thursday, Feb. 22. To be eligible for preschool, children must be 3 years old on or before Sept. 1. If there is a space issue, preference will be given to any child who is older.
A courthouse-issued birth certificate, not a hospital certificate, is required at the time of screening and pre-registration. A physical and dental exam and immunization record must be completed before school begins in the fall. Forms for this information will be given to parents at the screening.
Parents also are required to attend a new student registration on Friday, July 27.
Early screening of both new kindergarten and preschool children helps the school district organize classes and transportation schedules for the coming year.
For more information or to schedule a screening, call Rhonda at 815-357-8744, ext. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
