La Salle County

James Pavelek, 52, Marseilles, was arrested Friday following a traffic stop on U.S. 6 in Manlius Township on complaints of driving while license revoked, operating a motor vehicle with suspended registration and operating a motor vehicle with no valid insurance. He was given a notice to appear.

Namos Loving, 21, Streator, was arrested Friday on a La Salle County warrant for probation violation/revocation. Loving was taken to La Salle County Jail.

Ross Hauge, 41, Streator, was arrested Saturday during a traffic stop near Kent and Monroe streets in Streator on a complaint of obstructing a peace officer during the citation of the driver of the vehicle he was in. The driver, Shirley Koley, 22, was cited for no valid driver’s license. During Hauge’s transportation to the county jail, he made numerous threats toward the arresting deputy and was subsequently charged with unlawful use of a license and for threatening a public official. Bond was to be set by a judge.

Scott Likeness, 19, Sheridan, was arrested Saturday on a complaint of driving while license suspended following a traffic stop on North 39th Road in Mission Township. He was given a notice to appear.

Matthew Nixon, 34, Morris, was arrested Saturday on complaints of driving while license suspended, failure to report an accident to police authorities, leaving the scene of an accident involving vehicle damage, operating a motor vehicle with no valid insurance and also was arrested on an active La Salle County failure to appear warrant for domestic battery. At 5:35 p.m., deputies investigated a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 52 near East 29th Road in Mission Township, where a vehicle left the roadway and struck a ditch. Witnesses told deputies that a male fled the scene. Deputies tracked the male through a wooded area, where they found he had fallen into a creek. Nixon was taken into custody without incident.

Thomas J. Renner, 25, Williston, N.D., was arrested Sunday following a traffic stop on Route 23 near North 25th Road in Fall River Township for DUI of alcohol and improper lane usage. He was taken to the county jail.

Tyler F. Degnan, 21, Serena, was arrested Sunday at his residence for domestic battery. The report said he caused bodily injury to his girlfriend. He was taken to the jail.

Ottawa

Alicia Budach, 26, was arrested Sunday on a complaint of DUI, improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage. She posted an individual bond and her driver’s license.

Fire calls

Streator firefighters responded to a report of smell of fire at 10:57 p.m. Sunday at 13 Ponderosa Drive. Nothing was found.

Streator firefighters responded to a gas leak at 8:49 p.m. Sunday at 1301 Lowden Road. The leak was confirmed and Nicor was contacted.
