AREA ROUNDUP: Indians finish 14th, Norsemen 15th

PLANO — The eighth-seeded Sandwich Indians fell 62-46 to the No. 14 seed Lisle Lions in the 13th-place game of the Plano Christmas Classic on Saturday morning.

The Lions built a 15-point halftime advantage (29-14) to propel them to the win.
All-tournament selection Jimmy Braddish had 14 points for Sandwich.
Newark 77, Chicago Clemente 56
At the Plano Christmas Classic, the Class 1A No. 8 state-ranked and second-seeded Norsemen — behind all-tournament selection Dylan Patrick's 36-point, 12-rebound performance — beat the No. 12 seed Wildcats in the 15th-place game.
Newark (8-5) led 24-7 after one quarter, 47-26 at the half and 61-42 through three periods.
Connor Swanson added 14 points for the Norsemen. Corey Jacobson contributed nine points, nine rebounds and seven assists.
