Marseilles competes at Al Stegman Tournament
The Marseilles eight-grade boys basketball team defeated Grand Ridge, but fell to Paw Paw and Mendota Northbrook at the Harding Al Stegman Holiday Classic Tournament.
MES opened play with a 32-28 loss to Paw Paw (Colter Figenbaum had 14 points, Ramazan Ibishoski and Ashton Linn five each and Logan Stevenson four), then topped Grand Ridge 38-35 (Stevenson 11 points, Figenbaum 10, Ibishoski eight and Linn and Chase Bowers four each), before falling to Mendota Northbrook 51-19 (Stevenson six points, Blake Watland and Linn four apiece).
Ottawa Dolphins win dual at Belvidere
The Ottawa Dolphins defeated the Belvidere Barracudas 674-403 during Saturday's dual at the Belvidere Family YMCA.
Triple winners for the Dolphins were: Lucas Farabaugh (10U 50 freestyle, 10U 100 freestyle and 10U 50 backstroke), Finley Jobst (8U 100 IM, 8U 50 freestyle and 8U 25 breaststroke), Lily Mustered (10U 100 IM, 10U 100 freestyle and 10U 50 backstroke) and Joe Ovanic (14U 200 freestyle, 14U 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke).
Winning two events were: Addisyn Budnick (8U 25 freestyle and 25 backstroke), Cici Burke (6U 25 freestyle and 25 backstroke), Henry Farabaugh (6U 25 freestyle and 25 backstroke), Taylor Gamons (10U 50 butterfly and 50 breaststroke), Ryan Nelson (14U 200 IM and 100 butterfly), Logan Olson (8U 25 butterfly and 25 breaststroke) and Jon Szewczuk (14U 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke).
Capturing single events were: Colt Bryson (10U 50 butterfly), Audrey Davis (8U 25 butterfly), Tucker Ditchfield (10U 50 breaststroke), Alexa Dunlap (15-21 50 freestyle), Addison Fultz (10U 50 freestyle), Emma Haage (15-21 100 freestyle), Owen Phllips (12U 100 backstroke), Adam Swanson (10U 100 IM) and Emma White (14U 100 freestyle).
The Dolphins had six athletes — Hope Blanco, Cole Bressendorf, Addisyn Budnick, Cici Burke, Addison Fultz, and Adam Swanson — swim all of their events in personal-best times.
