LONG POINT AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY
Long Point American Legion Auxiliary Unit 1217 met Nov. 20 at the Long Point American Legion Hall. Chaplain Arlene Martell led the opening prayer for the 11 members present. The minutes and treasurer's reports were accepted. Carol Kaminke served refreshments
The November fish fry bake sale raised $199. Some members visited the La Salle Veterans Home on Nov. 1. The next bingo will be Wednesday, April 4. A collection was taken for Ma's Food Pantry during the December meeting. The Auxiliary will match the donations.
There are enough bake sale bakers for the next three months of fish fries. Boxes for the Boxes for Troops program will be packed at the March meeting. Members approved donating books Martell purchased to the Woodland School library.
Mary Taylor presented a county meeting report. More details will be provided for the Marsha Haag fundraiser scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 10. A membership update was given and a current list of members was distributed.
The next meeting will be 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, at Tuck's in Long Point.
