State police arrested 2 for dropping eggs onto I-80

A Marseilles man and an Ottawa man have been arrested by Illinois State Police for dropping eggs from an overpass on vehicles traveling along Interstate 80 near milepost 86.

Joseph J. Hawks, 18, of Marseilles, and Noah A. Wright, 19, of Ottawa, were arrested following an investigation of objects being dropped off an overpass bridge at around 10 p.m. Friday. They were both charged with vehicular endangerment (a Class 2 felony), criminal damage to property (a Class A misdemeanor) and disorderly conduct (a Class C misdemeanor).

A news release said after a trooper observed damage to the windshield of a vehicle by an egg that night, two suspects — Hawks and Wright —  and an associated vehicle were linked to similar incidents Nov. 18 and Dec. 1.
