Counterfeit cash crops up in Seneca

Following the discovery of a counterfeit $20 bill at a local company this week, Seneca police are warning businesses and residents to inspect paper money — especially larger denominations — during sales transactions or while receiving change. A news release from the Seneca department said phony paper money has been passed as legit currency in other communities in recent weeks. Ottawa police arrested a Chicago man and woman last week for passing phony $100 bills.
