Malcolm A. Billard: 1942-2017


PERU — Malcolm A. "Mac" Billard, 75, of Peru, passed away Wednesday morning, Nov. 1, at his home.

A celebration of life will be at noon Saturday, Nov. 4, at Mueller Funeral Home in Peru. Full military rites will be conducted by the U.S. Marine Corps and the Peru Veterans Memorial Group. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Billard was born June 14, 1942, in La Salle, to Robert and Gertrude (Tidaback) Billard. He was a graduate of La Salle-Peru High School. He married Kathlene Gotch on April 19, 1969, in Streator.
Mr. Billard was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked in construction and was a member of Local 1203 and later, Marseilles 393. He loved his workshop and enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Kathlene; three children, Michael (Cathy) Billard, of Savage, Md., Matthew (Han) Billard, of Hillsborough, N.C., and Susan (Spencer) Grager, of Syracuse, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Grant, Glen, John, Fox and Aurelia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Carol Moreno; and two brothers, Robert and Russell Billard.
