Several teenage boys from Ottawa and Marseilles were injured in a one-vehicle crash Tuesday night.
A vehicle driven by a 16-year-old Ottawa boy went out of control on East 23rd Road, near North 22nd Road, about five miles south of Marseilles, at about 5:08 p.m. The vehicle hit a cement bridge railing, then entered a ditch, according to the La Salle County Sheriff's Office.
The driver and his four passengers, three 16-year-old Ottawa boys and one 17-year-old Marseilles boy, were taken to OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa. The Marseilles boy was later flown to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
The driver was cited on complaints he had too many juvenile passengers and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
