FLANAGAN AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY UNIT 456
The Flanagan American Legion Auxiliary Unit 456 met Oct. 26. President Mary Weers opened the meeting; Marilyn Shields gave the opening prayer followed by a moment of silence for the departed.
Connie Carls presented the minutes and Eunice Rheinhardt gave the financial report. There are now 59 members. Dues increase $3 in 2019.
Two members attended the Washburn meeting. New blinds for the Legion will be purchased. Scholarship papers were received, contact Weers with questions. The 17th District fundraiser will be a bakeless bake sale. The Christmas meeting will be at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Family Kitchen in Pontiac. Veterans Day will be observed at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at Flanagan School. Christmas shopping days will be at the La Salle Veterans Home at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6; 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, Danforth Veterans Home; and 9:30 a.m. Dec. 6, Quincy Veterans Home.
Shields gave the closing prayer. Hostesses were Carol Yordy and Elynor Pomeranke.
