Eilts holding Illini Tailgate Oct. 14
Dan and Sheila Eilts will be holding their annual Ottawa/Starved Rock area University of Illinois football tailgate party before the October 14 Rutgers game (game time not yet announced). All Illini fans are invited to join the tailgate in Lot 32 (aka Lot E-14), directly west of State Farm Center. Suggested game-day parking for those without a Lot 32 parking pass is around the corner on St Mary's Road.

Shepherd soccer victorious 2-0
Shepherd soccer won 2-0 over Milton Pope, with Gabi Krueger and Camden Loomis scoring goals. The Rams are now 8-3-1.
Serena kickers win 7-1
Serena Middle School soccer scored a 7-1 triumph over Lisbon to improve to 8-2, with two goals apiece coming courtesy of Camden Figgins, Carson Baker and Tanner Faivre. Mason McNelis added the other, with Figgins and Cooper Langston providing two assists each.
Wallace soccer wins 4-2
On its eighth-grade day, Wallace soccer bested Milton Pope 4-2 behind a hat trick from Giovanni Resendez and another goals from Dani Lyons.
Serena spikers split
Serena's seventh-grade volleyball team won 25-16, 25-19 over Lisbon, led by Sophie Thompson (11 service points), Jaiden Mahler (six points, two on aces) and Hayleigh Hauppa (five points). The 8s fell for the first time this season, 27-25, 25-11, this despite strong service from Khloe Cantlin (12 points).
Panthers baseball moves to 12-3
Three wins and a loss recently brought the Northlawn baseball team to 12-3 on the season, starting with a 12-2 win over Peru (Dan Winterrowd 4-4 at the plate, winning pitcher on the mound; Jack Starkey, Cole Martin, Brady Grabowski with two hits each). The Panthers then fell 7-6 to Shepherd (despite three Starkey hits) before besting Ransom/St. Michael 10-9 (Starkey two doubles, one single; Adam Williamson two singles; Gavin Howard double). Trainor had two hits for R/SM.
Northlawn then won a 4-3 thriller to open regionals, led by Jovan Pryor's complete-game pitching win on 65 pitches, Winterrowd's three singles, Starkey's two doubles, and two singles apiece courtesy of Parker Phillis and Christian Benning.
Grand Ridge girls defeat ICS
In girls hoops, Grand Ridge swept Morris ICS — 21-5 in a seventh-grade game led by Nora Cave's eight points, Faith Maltby's five points and four points each from Marisa Vickers and Sadie Lechel; and 28-16 paced by Sophie Offermann's 13 points, Allie Snyder's six points and Maltby's four tallies.
